2011 International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma Being Held in Washington, DC in June
May 19, 2011 — Put on by the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (Meso Foundation), this year’s International Symposium on Malignant Mesothelioma promises to be a moving and empowering experience for all who attend. The Symposium features programs geared for mesothelioma patients, their family members, scientists, advocates and others involved in finding a cure for this devastating cancer caused by asbestos exposure.
This year’s three–day Symposium will be held on June 23–25, 2011 in Washington, DC at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. The agenda includes a wide range of offerings including support groups, sessions on Mind Body Healing, Complementary and Alternative Medicine Approaches, and Experimental Strategies in Peritoneal Mesothelioma and Malignant Mesothelioma as well as a briefing for Capitol Hill staff hosted by the Meso Foundation and Senator Patty Murray’s office. Topics covered in the briefing will include education on mesothelioma, the effects mesothelioma has on American families, and how help can be given in finding a cure.
